There has been much talk all week of the ANZAC Day battle between Collingwood and Essendon yet little mention was made of the titanic quarter-final clash between the MH girls at the annual Ballark Tennis Cup. A hardfought battle played out in jeans and gumboots on a muddy surface that would have seen Federer give the game away. A marathon match of "first to three games" saw Lis move ahead into the semi's and Shan move onto another glass of MH Shiraz.
So as Round 5 continues, it's our very own Hard Nut Harris that leads the way with an exact margin pick for the Pies V Bombers clash. Nice work Johnno..
Collingwood V Essendon
What a match! Dane Swan showed that the couple of pies he's had over the last few weeks has done him no harm whatsoever as the Pies just held on to take home the 4 points.
Fremantle V Carlton
The flag favourite Blues were put back in their place last week so could come out fighting over in the West whilst Ross Lyon showed his old Saints boys how its done last week. No Sandilands for Freo and Carlton don't really mind a trip over the Nullarbor, so this could be a tough one for the Dockers.
GWS V Western Bulldogs
The Prime Minister's Cup in Canberra. I'm tipping Julia will be after a better result than the Slippery week she's had so far. Her Doggies don't mind a run around at Manuka oval but GWS are starting to put up a bit of fight.
North Melbourne V Gold Coast
A tough gig for the Sun's boys this week with Gazza on the bench. North should be able to get over the line despite being served up a reality check from the Swannies last week.
Melbourne V St Kilda
Oh dear...what can we say about Melbourne. The only positive outcome is that when I went to buy my little one a Demon's jersey for Auskick this week, they were 1/2 price on the clearance rack. A silver lining perhaps. Saints will flog the Dees, no problems.
Brisbane V Geelong
This game could be harder to pick than a broken nose. No-one's quite sure where the pussy cats are at the moment. 2 wins, 2 losses and a mixed bag of form. Champion Simon Black runs out for his 300 games this week for the Lions and will be sure to give the Geelong midfield a run for their money
Hawthorn V Sydney
The Hawks love a trip to the Apple Isle and will give the Bloods a tough match down there. Sydney has lost Rohan in the sickening broken leg incident but they will continue to play some top notch footy. Hawks need the 4 points this week to stay in touch with the 8.
Richmond V West Coast
Riewoldt needs to step up for the Tiges this week to give them a chance against the Weagles. West Coast's power forward line should prove too much for the Richmond defence but this could be a roughie tip to knock the Hard Nut of the top of the ladder.
Adelaide V Port Adelaide
The city of churches is alive this weekend! The SA derby brings a little spark to the city and Port could really do with another win under their belt. This match could be tighter than Warnie's forehead but I'm tipping the Crows in a close one.
